I mentioned it because it stood out.
"The auction market for the vintage machines, experts say, is thin and

That doesn't say how many don't work, but since it was put in the article, 
it seems to suggest something.  It also doesn't say anything about the 
state of the computer, maybe someone simply didn't reset the ICs.  Or, 
they had no power supply to try it, so they said "as is".  Certainly in 
the antique radio newsgroup, they get quite a few laughs about ebay 
auctions where people say 'works fine but has no power cord" or things 
like that, people unable to actualy try the thing, or do a bit of checking 
to see if it works or can easily be gotten to work.
