I bought an upgrade kit from Sun Remarketing maybe 20 or so years ago. I
think the bottom plate was one they had made for them, not one that Apple
would've shipped; it's brushed aluminum, and has no serial-number sticker.
No replacement badges were provided, so my lid still says "Apple IIe." A
ROM 01 motherboard was included, with power-supply and keyboard connectors
installed. At some point, I added a connector to plug in an external
keypad. I doubt that mine is the only IIe upgraded in this manner,
especially since the kit cost only about half what Apple used to charge.
