Sounds like you may be trying to plug a Euro-Apple Premium Softcard into a US machine.
Looking at the component side of the board, is there a 1/2" x 1/2" notch at the upper right? If so, my guess is correct.
But, the upside is that you have a relatively rare item that might be attractive if sold as what it actually is.
