Hi, I have found a STOLL Farb-Controller in my possession. Its a
accessory from the Stoll VDU you mentioned.

The Stoll CMS 400, 401 and CMS 300 were most likely the flat-knitting
Machines the VDU was intended for.
I have encountered only 2 other Sites on the Inet that may be Stoll

Jerzy Sobola (apple2gs.republika.pl) analyzed the Graphics-Board and
has the schematics for download. He does not have the Software though.
