First, try cleaning your drive heads with a cleaning diskette. Checking
drive speed is also a good idea. If you have two drives, swap them to boot
from the other drive. 

Unless really abused, floppies seldom "go bad". 

If you get it working, make that backup!  That'll guarantee that the
original never goes bad. ;-)
