I'm not sure. I also was not aware of there being two different versions of Bards Tale I & II for the IIgs. I apparently have the older versions which are basically identical to the Amiga version. I didn't know there was a GS/OS specific version until I was troubleshooting why it wouldn't install on my hard drive and found the GS/OS version's reference card online. You can get the GS/OS versions from the IIgs Gaming Fairway.
In addition to being able to make macros, the GS/OS version features better music and sounds (there are fighting sounds now), an automap feature, and the ability to save and restore anywhere which to me is the most important new feature. You do lose the ability to import characters from Wizardry and Ultima, but I never used that feature anyway (the characters always sucked).
