I've mulled this over in my head for about 20 years, actually, but I don't
know if an 8-bit version of Arkanoid 2 would be possible on an Apple ][.
It's something I'd like to see, though...xD but one that I would be way
out of my league with. (I still haven't figured out how to replace the
sector read code in Arkanoid 1, as I did with Lode Runner. x.x)
While Arkanoid 1 didn't come out half-bad, Arkanoid 2 is a bit heavier, as
in addition to falling pills there can be not only 3 or 4 but 15 floaters
and up to 40 balls onscreen, which might be a challenge to implement
without sprite support! (The C64 does have a port, but that system has
sprites. The GS, of course, runs almost 3x the speed of the //e and has a
more powerful CPU.)
I always liked this game and it would be interesting to play on metal
again but I don't have a GS lol...
