I, like many others have before, would appreciate some help in recalling the names of Apple II games I played decades ago.
All three are text adventures that I ran on my Apple IIe prior to 1988. I remember only isolated scenes from each:
- Climbing a flagpole to enter a window, with the possibility of falling and breaking your neck (game over!); vampires or werewolves were present.
- Giving a comb to a mermaid in a tank so she could unknot her hair.
- A game opening by exiting a spacecraft that has just landed on an alien planet. There may've been caves nearby.
That last one is vague enough that it probably could've been any number of games, but perhaps someone here remembers the first one or two? I'm 95% sure they weren't Eamon adventures, as I don't recall creating a character or launching from an adventurers' hall.
My thanks to anyone who can offer suggestions. Happy American Thanksgiving!
