Just wondering, any vintage Mac experts resident here?
I know that the core subject of this group is Apple2 but I was wondering
(hoping) that there is an overlap in people's expertise. I've hunted
around a bunch of Mac newsgroups looking for active communities like this
one, but have come up dry.
My main interest is in 68K Macintosh. As previously posted, I run a vastly
expanded LCIII+ as my main vintage system, but have previously owned (and
then sold when I ended up with dozens of machines) a wide range of the
early to late 90s Apple line.
I'm more or less at the end of the road in expanding this particular Mac,
other than a floppy drive for my iie card, there's not much else I could
bolt onto this frankenstein setup, so I'm mostly concentrating on software
for it now and turning it into a productive machine.
I do, however, have a PowerMac 9600 sitting on the next desk and I've
started buying upgrades for that too. In particular, I have a Apple PC
Compatibility card that I'd like to talk about with someone who has
experience of the thing.
Apologies for off-topic, just fishing really! If anyone knows of a
Macintosh newsgroup that's active that I've not found yet, please let me
know! (I am a member of the 68kmla.org site so could post this there, but
I'm getting a kick out of working on Usenet on this computer. Vintage
comms for a vintage machine!!!)
