I played Bolo a lot, though curiously didn't try doing the movement-gunning split with my friend that we would often do in this case. Maybe I just felt Bolo was too hard overall. Trying to steer while driving backwards, given that the front and back of the tank are indistinguishable from each other, was terribly difficult. But I also remember it as one of those games where I would usually just start on the highest difficulty. The game might not last very long, but sometimes it would, and it was always frenetic and chaotic and exciting on the high levels.

If you like this, it's worth comparing it to Starmaze, which is similar play but fundamentally easier because you bounce off the walls rather than dying. That said, it's still bloody hard work to be the pilot in either game.
