All you need is a regulator that outputs -5V from a -12V input. Such a circuit is outlined on Drew's website here:
http://drewbiegs.wordpress.com/2009/10/22/replacement-gs-powersupply-complete/

I've used the same circuit in a power supply replacement myself.
