Final Fun - Asimov Additions, file games (09.09.12)

Hi,

Well, I made it through the list of 'file' games I had, comparing them to Asimov. As might be expected, file games are pretty well represented on there. But I did seem to surface a few new ones to add anyway.

I'm sure there are more variations possible, considering file sizes, title screens, cracks, etc., but I didn't factor that in; these are mostly based on file name, with some spot checking along the way (and in cases where I had multiple versions already).

And with this, I've now gone through all the images I have, except for 70 disks or so of my own stuff (utils, source code, tools, games, etc.). I know there are a few stragglers in there to add, but that stuff needs more curating first.

So I think I'm done uploading to Asimov in bulk anyway. With luck, any 'last copy' I had of something on floppy is now saved.

Cheers.

ANKH(beta)_f.dsk - this is a preliminary version of Ankh (even says so in the demo sequence). I'm including both versions I have, for comparison.
ANKH_f.dsk

APPLE-OIDS_CHIP-OUT(BB crack)_f.dsk - Black Bag created a clasic crack that preserved both Apple-Oids and Chipout together (with the title page).

AWACS(DiffVer)_f.dsk - I have two different versions of this (different game graphics), so am including both. Not sure which is which.
AWACS_f.dsk

BASEBALL_f.dsk - from Programma Software, by Charles Sullivan, 1979. Nifty lo-res title screens too. Might be buried on Asimov elsewhere.

BENEATH_APPLE_MANOR_SPECIAL_EDITION_f.dsk - I'm not sure what constitutes the 'special edition', but here it is.

BOA_f.dsk - by George Smith and Lee Daniels. Seems to be a two-player variation of the popular snake-type maze game. Says cracked by The Jerk, but I don't know who published this or when (I'd guess 1982 or so).

BOULDERDASH_II_f_hr.dsk - as far as I was able to tell, there's only one image of Boulder Dash II on Asimov currently, and it's a full disk version, and doesn't seem to work. (And is from a different publisher?). I had created a file crack of it back in the day (clean, not tagged), so here's a working version. Just a great game.

DUEL_f.dsk - interesting two-player game where you have spaceships that faceoff each other. Says it was cracked, but I don't know who published it.

DUNGEON_CAMPAIGN(Int)_f.dsk - there's a combo disk that has this and Wilderness Campaign, but this seems to be a standalone version. The lo-res Dragon picture is different. By Robert Clardy.

LODESTONE_f.dsk - by David Cross, 1982, Cross Educational Software. May have been self-published. Kind of sound effects happy.

MAZE_GAME(SilasWarner)_f.dsk - this is a neat first-person maze game done in lo-res by Silas Warner. There's a later version of this; I think this is an earlier variation.

MICRO_LEAGUE_BASEBALL_1980_f.dsk - by Arthur Wells, Jr., 1980.

PAC-MAN_f.dsk - I didn't think it possible there could be a missing Pac-Man, and yet, here's another.

PANDORAS_BOX_f_hr(orig title screen).dsk - this retains the (mostly) original title screen, which is missing from other file versions of this. And it's a nice title screen.

PLANETOIDS_ADV_SAMPLER(][+Only)_f.dsk - seems to be some sort of combo sampler from Adventure International that included Planetoids and a sample version of Adventure.

SEAFOX_f(withintro).dsk - most of the file versions are missing the animated intro. This has the intro as a separate file/routine. They need to be stitched back together, but at least it's runnable.

SHARK_ADVENTURE_f.dsk - I think the title is actually "SHARK", by M. Pluimer. I don't know if this was a commercial game or not (guessing not though).

SNAPPER_f.dsk - This is The Snapper, which is on Asimov, but this version retains the original title, with no crack stuff. And it's smaller.

STAR_CASTLES_f.dsk - the file name on this was Star Castles, but I'm guessing this is actually the same as a different game, just renamed. But I didn't hunt down the matching game (maybe someone will recognize it). Including it just in case.

STAR_VENTURE_f.dsk - by Rodney Mcauley. Kind of a neat space shoot 'em up. Seems to be commercial quality, but I don't know if it was published or not.

SWARMIN_SMILIES_f.dsk - a pirate ware, but a hi-res graphics game (with a digitized sound). Written by El Pro and The RWTS Cracker. It's... different.

THE_PHRASE_THAT_PAYS_f.dsk - by Henry Heatwole, 1985. Seems to be a Wheel of Fortune type game.

THE_SEARCH_f.dsk - another pirate ware game, written by Man O War, 1985. Some type of maze/tile game.

THE_SKIER_f.dsk - skiing, but the screen perspective is rotated 90 degrees.

UNIVAC_][_2.2_f.dsk - a pirate ware. Not really a game, but maybe some form of text formatter thing. Kinda. I'm not really sure what it's trying to do.

Although I'm not a big fan of Arcade Game Machine games, there sure are a lot of them. Here are four more, just 'cause I had them.
