Smattering of Asimov Additions - more games, cracking info, pirate stuff (09.05.12)

Hi,

There seemed to be pretty good coverage for the 'strategy' type games I ran through, so I opted to include a couple meta-pirate related artifacts (i.e. pirate stuff about pirates and pirating) to [pad] round out the list today.

Still more to come.

BARDS_TALE_II_DOX.dsk - here's an example of typed up 'dox' to go along with a game, replete with BBS numbers and such. Probably more suited for textfiles.com, but I thought I'd toss it in here (and I've already sent this to Jason a ways back).

CONQUERING_WORLDS.dsk - by Walter Hochbrueckner (1983 game from Datamost). Seems like a strategy game, hard to figure out without the docs.

CUTTHROATS_DOCS.dsk - although this is softdocs for the Infocom game Cutthroats, it was prepared with graphics, a menu system, printer support, and such. So it's more than just the usual text files, but a form of pirate ware itself.

KRASH_KOURSE_IN_KRACKING_S1.dsk - this is a whole (large) series on cracking written by The Parity Error, and is an L.S.D. Production (Lone Star Distributors). I would place this about 1986 or so. If the Apple II pirate subculture is of interest, then this might be just the ticket. Covers some history, techniques, examples, and even includes a bibliography. Haven't seen this one floating about.
KRASH_KOURSE_IN_KRACKING_S2.dsk

MPG_KRAKPAK_S1.dsk - this is the Midwest Pirate's Guild original 'KrakPak 1984' disk, which was offered at a computer fair in Minnesota. The current images on Asimov (as 'mpg_utils') have been modified. I believe these to be correct (I think I got them directly from Apple Bandit, but don't hold me to that...).
MPG_KRAKPAK_S2.dsk

SPEC_ELITE_HALL_OF_FAME_S1.dsk - These were really two separate disks, one being volume 1, and the second one a later volume 2, but they operate more like sides. SpecElite was a well-known Apple BBS, frequented by many of the Apple pirates. These disks emulate the SpecElite BBS system (somewhat), and use the actual BBS postings to do so (organized by user). So with this disk, you can 're-live' an Apple II BBS look and feel to a degree, read about what Apple pirates had to say about each other, and explore other tidbits of info throughout. And there's a fair amount of content too, so it can be a time sink.
SPEC_ELITE_HALL_OF_FAME_S2.dsk

STAR_DESTROYER.dsk - 1983 game from Harvest Time Software Company, written by Mitchell Robbins. Seems to be three space ships dueling (the difficulty choices are 'Hard', 'Harder', and 'Hardest' - nice). Uses some vector graphics from Sub Logic, so it has a bit of a flight sim feel to it.

STELLAR_DEFENSE.dsk - by Tom Burlew, version 1.2, 11/7/83 (according to the text title page). Lot of text-based setup, but then gets to a Star Trek-like graphics page. I'd guess it's a space strategy game.

ZENDAR.dsk - there's a version of this in the file-based section, but it's incomplete (doesn't display the title page correctly, doesn't have the save/resume game working). This is a full disk version, and seems to be complete/working. From 1982.
