Prograppler and power on

I have a Prograppler in FX-80 mode inside my Apple IIe.  It is hooked 
to my Brother HL-5250DN laser printer which supports Epson "mode" 
through its centronics jack.

Everything works great, I can print documents for Appleworks , 
Printshop etc. One problem though. Whenever I turn the Apple IIe the 
Prograppler sends a couple characters to the printer, thus starting a 
page. Anyone run into something like this before? Any suggestions for 
troubleshooting this would help!
