The quick answer is that at $900 it jumps to $5560 to perform a memory copy from $5600 to $8300 (up through to $8CFF), but then it jumps to $80C1.

The problem is that there's no code at the $8000 page to execute.

So something is missing in what was saved, or was placed in the incorrect location.
