I recently had to unload a couple of old TVs: a 48" rear-projection CRT HDTV
(with both analog and digital tuners) and a 36" SD-only CRT TV. One of my
wife's coworkers snagged the big-screen, but the big-tube TV wouldn't move.
We had it on Craigslist for a couple or three weeks, with prices that
eventually fell to "any reasonable offer." One weekend morning, we sat out
in the garage with it, with signs posted on the way into our
neighborhood...not even a nibble. Even getting charities to take them is
hit-or-miss. Goodwill doesn't take them at all. The Salvation Army still
does, so we eventually had them send their truck by to pick it up.

I think the only CRTs we have now are the 15" and smaller monitors for my
Apple IIs, so we shouldn't have this hassle again.
