Hi,
I rooted around for what seemed to be the most recent 'Asimov Want List' (dated 2010 though), and started rummaging around to see what's been made available, what I had, and what's left. Here's what I came up with.
Are there any other 'missing' or 'wanted' Apple II programs?
Old list with comments
----------------------
Arcade Volume I from Keypunch Software- It had several nice action games by "Rod" or "Hot Rod" including Sea Hunt and Galactic Glider. – This is actually Keypunch’s ‘Seahunt’ disk (on the box; has a title of ‘Micro Arcade’ on boot though), and is on Asimov as Galactic Glider_J-Walker_Seahunt (2 sides). So I think this can be removed.
Berzerker Raids – this should actually be ‘Berserker Raids’. This was from Berserker Works, and I don’t think this was released for the Apple. Could be removed.
Car Builder – already posted on Asimov.
Conflict in Vietnam (probably needs to be in .nib form) – already on Asimov
Cross Country Canada – this is on the VirtualApple site (http://www.virtualapple.org/crosscountrycanada.html)
Dragon Fire (not the arcade game)- The title screen had inversed text, centered, and it said DRAGON FIRE; definitely low-res; the maze is a rip off of Super Dungeon and Dragonmaze. I think the character was four squares big, and was red. ... Probably from Level 10. – No idea about this one.
Empire II: Interstellar Sharks (1982, EduWare) – don’t have
Empire III: Armageddon (1984, EduWare) – don’t have
Gertrude's Puzzles (The Learning Company) – already on Asimov
Gertrude's Secrets (The Learning Company) – already on Asimov
Gwendolyn (1983, Artworx) picture-text adventure - I don’t think this was released for the Apple.
Hot Rod and Hot Rod 2 – no idea about these.
Ice Demons- You use the paddles to control 1 or 2 characters that shoot arrows at demons that emerge from platforms of ice. One of them was a happy face; one of them was a happy face with sunglasses. – I've just uploaded this to Asimov. It's kind of in a goofy multi-file format from the old crack of it. If I have time, I might clean it up into a single file.
John Madden Football – already on Asimov
La Femme qui ne supportait pas les ordinateurs (The woman who couldn't stand computers) by Chine Lanzmann – no idea about this.
Match Boxes (Broderbund) – this was C-64, didn’t come out for the Apple, so I think could be removed.
Music Construction Set (mouse-capable version) – I've just uploaded to Asimov (came in 1985).
Pride and Prejudice – this is also from Berserker Works, and I don’t think came out for the Apple, so could be removed.
Quintic- listed in Nibble Vol 7 No 2, February 1986 – already on Asimov
Rogue Trooper – this was C-64, didn’t come out for the Apple, so I think could be removed.
Sign of the Wolf – this is also from Berserker Works, and I don’t think came out for the Apple.
Silent Service (8-bit version) – already on Asimov
Star Warrior – already on Asimov
Starflight 1 and 2 (PC only?) – yes, PC only. Didn’t come out for Apple.
Thunder Cloud – no idea what this is
Toy Shop (Broderbund) – already on Asimov
Transportation Transformation – from Toucan, was for 128K Apple
Wizard War – this is also from Berserker Works, and I don’t think came out for the Apple.
Worms – no idea what this is
So, after clearing out what's already on Asimov and what wasn't released for the Apple, I think the list reduces to:
New reduced list
----------------
Dragon Fire (not the arcade game)- The title screen had inversed text, centered, and it said DRAGON FIRE; definitely low-res; the maze is a rip off of Super Dungeon and Dragonmaze. I think the character was four squares big, and was red. ... Probably from Level 10.
Empire II: Interstellar Sharks (1982, EduWare)
Empire III: Armageddon (1984, EduWare)
Hot Rod and Hot Rod 2
La Femme qui ne supportait pas les ordinateurs (The woman who couldn't stand computers) by Chine Lanzmann
Thunder Cloud
Transportation Transformation – from Toucan, was for 128K Apple
Worms
I think that a few of those are likely suspect as being available for Apple, but not sure.
Regards.
