I went to one at my local high school back in 87 (might have been 88).  I remember we made little programs on the Apple II, and the instructor had a really nicely done graphic of a dragon (cartoon style) that would do different things depending on what option you selected (drink a soda, breath fire, etc.).  Wish I had a copy of that demo.

I still have my computer camp disk with the programs I made on it.  They're pretty primitive, but I was only 10 or 11 at the time.  Besides, I spent most of my time showing the other guys how to beat Karateka. :)
