Re: New cassettes on brutaldeluxe.fr
Hey Antoine. So I just played Saucer Invasion. Getting it going in my emulator took a lot of wiggling around, and I wondered about the reasons for making the archive file in the format it's in?
Currently the tape archive is a collection of 820kb .po files.
The first hurdle I hit (which is presumably a Virtual II problem) is that Virtual II didn't recognise the 800k po format at all. So I switched to Sweet16.
The 2nd hurdle was that the disk image had no O/S. So then I booted a Prodos disk, prefixed to the .po image, and then realised that the integer games I was trying to play off there would not run under Prodos anyway.
Last, I used Copy 2 plus in Sweet16 to copy the Saucer file to a Dos 3.3 image I had which also had the 26 sector version of INTEGER on there.
I thought the programs from the tapes might be better off being transferred to bootable Dos 3.3 disk images? I know that means more images to download, though, and less space on each one. But Integer programs on Prodos formatted disks without an OS on them makes them hard to get at :)
