That's really been my experience as well. I regularly get requests for help with CNC milling machines, word processor formats, and recovering doctoral theses - but rarely games. (Unless it's the author asking - which also happens.) I think folks really did use the Apple II line more often for "serious" pursuits than other contemporaneous platforms.
