soggy floppies

A friend has a box full of floppies that she put in her checked
luggage while travelling. Apparently the bag got put in an area of
the plane that was subjected to extreme cold during the flight. Now
the black plastic floppy material that surrounds the brown magnetic
"disk" on which the data is actually contained... is in disarray in a
lot of the disks. Some of the disks (by which I mean the black
plastic material) bulge in such a way that a drive door cannot be
closed while they are in the drive. Some of the other disks can get
in the drive but only one side is readable. Some of the other disks
are a bit cold-logged but still readable.

Is there anything that could (conveniently/inexpensively) be done
about the disks where the brown magnetic disk is probably fine but the
black plastic is contorted to the point that it won't fit in the drive
or impairs reading? Some of these disks are originals.
