SCSI Questions

1) When formatting a drive from GS/OS it gives me the choice of a 2:1 or 1:1
interleave. In the past I have just picked one but I assume I could get
much better performance if I tweaked this a little bit. Isn't there some
other program (disk timer?) that lets you choose and test other interleaves
besides 1:1 and 2:1? I assume SCSI card and accelerator card selection make
a difference in interleave choice. Regardless, I can't imagine a GS could
make full utilization of a 1:1 interleave factor on a 7,200 RPM drive!

2) Has anybody (successfully) installed an 80 pin (or 68 pin) wide SCSI
drive on their A2 system using a 50 Pin M - (68/80) Pin F adapter? It is my
understanding that as long as it isn't a differential SCSI device that this
is possible? I have a 2GB 50 pin drive that is serving me quite well but
considering 50 pins are getting scarcer by the day, it would be nice to know
I could fall back on a wide SCSI drive some day.
