Re: Wanted: GBBS Pro Versions 2.x

I probably have a couple hundred segs/mods amassed myself. I used to be a
rather faithful caller of the L&L Support BBS from the '98-'92 period so I
have a fair collection from that era. I'm sure plenty of people out there
remember some of the true great ACOS games-- Firefox's Spacer Quest, the
Shem the Penman games (Halo, Morgue, Break Out), Empire, GW and other neat
ACOS mods -- with the same fondness and respect that I do.

Who knows what these sysops have moved on to, and if they are still involved
in the A2 community, but I for one would like to keep their code alive. I
share the sentiment that ACOS code brought out some real programming
ingenuity in the Apple II community, and I would hate to see time cause this
stuff fade away into the ether because nobody is maintaining it.

If any other GBBS/ACOS owners would be interested in swapping code snippets,
or better yet, trying to put together some sort of compilation CD or FTP
site so that this stuff could be maintained, please speak up! If we could
get a bunch of former sysops to SHK up their /GBBS folders and preserve the
look and feel of their systems as they were, that would be a valuable thing
to save. I understand and respect the copyrights on ACOS/GBBS code, and I'm
sure that this could be accomplished within those constraints so that this
stays within the "registered" community.

Anybody know the status on the peripherals+ stuff (stock market, casino,
SPUR, etc?) Does anybody own the rights to this stuff still or could we get
it classified as abandon ware???
