Sure I know why. Patrick - the owner of Asimov got a request to remove the
GBBS archives from the old http Asimov mirrored site that was done by the
Wayback Machine Project for the folder contents you noted below. The Asimov
owner and the Wayback machine adm. got the demand for removal from that ANAL
RETENTIVE -- RIGHT WINGER, DO NOTHING STEVE -- GUY -- and current owner of the
GBBS program. The rest of the contents are still there and available for
access and download.
IMHO -- this GBBS program is outdated and of no real value or function anyway,
as it stands in its current state. So, I'd say it's no big loss. I've got the
archives if anybody wants them -- send me an email ;-)
*****************************************************************
Here's a SHORT & TO THE POINT open and public letter/request to the owner of
GBBS. If you want to sell it -- the full rights to it tha is -- I'm game on
buying it and releasing it into public domain so others can do something useful
with the current state of the program and its src. code. Letting a program
sit in such a stagnant limbo legal status for such a long time as you have is
doing no good in any respects - IMHO.
So, It's your call Steve -- WHAT UP, WANNA SELL IT?
Cheers,
Tom
