Re: What type of HD can I use with my ][+

ProDOS works great on a II+. Just use version 1.9 or earlier.

Others have mentioned DOS 3.3 workaraounds for your DOS 3.3 disks. But if
all you want to do is use it for backup, you can compress your DOS 3.3 disks
using the II+ version of Shrinkit and store the compressed images on your
hard drive. This will save a ton of space, too. Then you would unpack them
back to regular 5.25 floppies for use.

If you have stuff that you really, really don't want to ever lose, then
another worthwhile option is to convert your disks to emulator DSK files and
transfer them through a serial link to a Mac or PC (if you have one.) The
emulators are incredibly good!

Mind you, all of this will only work with unprotected floppies. Protected
software will normally have to be kracked to unprotected disks before you
could use either option.
