When I was in BeagleDraw I went to print a picture, but when I tried to change to Color in the chroma menue in the Print Diologue box I found that "color" was in grey and that I could not select it. Is there anything I can do about this or am I SOL?

Does the color ribbon work with the printer self-test? The ribbon
might not be seated properly. If I recall correctly, the Imagewriter
II uses thicker ribbons for color and there is a switch (or a sensor,
I forget which) that the thicker ribbon housing trips when the color
ribbon is installed. This lets the printer know when a color ribbon is
installed (at least that is how I remember it, it has been years since
I've had an IWII, or BeagleDraw). If I am remembering correctly, the
printer driver will set the color checkbox inactive if the printer
doesn't respond that it has a color ribbon installed when polled.

I used to use BeagleDraw a lot with a color printer, but I bought the
Harmonie Drivers from Vitesse when I installed a Deskjet 500c in 1993
(which really works great with BeagleDraw) so I don't remember too
much about the Imagewriter.
