There is your problem. The SCSI card searches for the device with the
highest SCSI ID which is capable of booting and attempts to boot from
it.
Your machine will be trying to boot from the CD-ROM drive.
Change the SCSI ID on the hard drive to 6, and it should work (it will
also boot faster than it would if there was no CD-ROM drive and the hard
drive was set to SCSI ID 0).

Can you be more precise? I assume you are talking about double-clicking
a folder icon in Finder, but what graphics exactly are getting
corrupted?
