The same can probably be said about Windows machines too. I don't use
Internet Explorer on my machine if I can at all avoid it and the only
problem I've been having is my hard drive locking up my machine when
it was trying to spin back up after going to sleep. I seem to have
tracked that down the the S.M.A.R.T. technology that the drive and my
motherboard were using. I turned off support for that on my
motherboard and I haven't had a lock up again since. <Knock on wood.>
