Before I look for anything on eBay, I will always look wherever else I can
find a source for what it is I'm looking for, and try to get a feel for
what they should cost.

The biggest laugher these days are the clowns hawking Woz Sig GSs like they
were the Crown Jewels of England. Anybody who hangs in this group knows
exactly what they're worth. I have no problem with somebody tryin to make a
buck or two, but come on. I guess P.T. Barnum was right.

Just tonight I walked out of our local thrift store after passing up a nice
little GS with monitor, both 5.25 and 3.5 drives, keyboard and mouse for
$9.99 (no HD).

The worker in the store saw me dinkin' with it, asked me if I knew anything
about it and I offered to set it up to see if it worked. It did. It even
had a copy of Appleworks (classic) and 8-16 Paint I was playin' with. I
showed him a few things like the Control Panel and the "Three Finger Apple
Salute" to reboot.

As I was wandering the store, I looked back over there from time to time
and he was still playin' with it 20 minutes later. I hope he bought it
himself and took it home.

Why did I pass it up? I was too damn lazy to lug it off to be honest with
you, and I have three running and five in storage and really nowhere to put
it.

That's why when I see them for the prices you mentioned on eBay (or
anywhere for that matter) I just laugh and shake my head.

I've bought some stuff on "The Bay" before, but my rule is:

"Buyer beware".

And buyer be smart.
