The first thing I would do is cross my fingers, pop open the lid, and admire
the accelerator card which popped out of thin air.  ;)

Have you tried popping the RAM card out to see if the lockups stop?  Here is a
wild guess: the diagnostics software is not trying to detect an accelerator
card but is simply assuming that you have one from the nature of the errors.
Maybe the card is not seated properly, or the edge connector is too loose.
