Apple II serial number question

I finally have a real Apple II computer, and the serial number on the
board is 2000, while the case serial number is 1734. The number on the
board is hand written in the little white box by the power connector.
Does this mean that the motherboard was really the 2000th Apple II
motherboard ever made? Or would that number simply mean that it was
number 2000 of x revision, or of that particular MB lot, etc.? Is
there a way to look at the board and determine it's age -ie, if it
looks one way, then it's definitely not board number 2000? By the way,
there are pictures of it on my web page if you want to take a look at
it.

Thanks.
