Interesting thread.

	I also agree that it is the software that is too often lacking in
efficiency, good design and functionality. This is not welcomed (by me,
at least). A less than 1 megahertz CPU can do a terrific job at word
processing and number crunching. However, more computational power is
always welcomed. More things CAN BE and ARE done with this. Digital
photography and video is definitely one of those areas. It IS a shame
that many applications today waste this power, though. 

	However, if you want to good examples of what can be done with fairly
limited resources and efficient software design, look at game consoles today.
