Re: Observation about group
<<
Sounds great, Jay. I wish I could see the faces of the audience when
they realize what you did the presentation with. :-)
Please be sure to share your observations after its over.

Jeff, you should see the expressions that I'm ALREADY getting: the begging,
the pleading! No one has gotten down on their knees yet, but "some people"
really don't want me to present essentially the same program running on a
sixteen year old computer (hmmm? I could run it on a 1982 Apple II and make it
an even two decades old computer with 128K!). Why do we need new computers if
they don't do any better of a job than an old //e? That's a question they
don't want to have to answer.
Me? I think that it's an excellent question -- in fact, it should be the key
question for technology purchases: WHY do we need this? If nothing else, then
the other teachers should be inspired (or guilted) into writing better
PowerPoint presentation and having better PP presentations from their students
(YUCK! I saw the example for a high school student that the instructor used as
an great example of what students can do with PP. Jeff--it was all flash and
no cash. Lots of graphics, cute screen transitions and two or three paragraphs
copied word for word from a book. If this is the future of classroom
reporting, aw heck, let's face it: IT IS.
