Thanks! I have another four or five additional systems to add to the A2
clones section, including a Mimic Spartan... and a ton of odd cards,
monitors, printers, etc. Three interesting printers (IMHO) that I want to
add are a Centronics 737, an Okidata 82a, and an MPI -all very cool but I
need to clean them before they're ready.

Geez, I find cool stuff on ebay all the time. Another good way that I've
found cool items is by hunting the web for things that I want, and if I find
it on a site, I ask the owner if they're interested in either selling or
trading them. You'd be surprised how often they say, "OK," and if they
aren't interested at the time, they might be later. Be polite and friendly,
stay in contact, and network like crazy. I get great tips and leads on stuff
all the time, just by letting folks know what I'm looking for.

Could be your monitor but like I said, I tweaked my brightness and gamma
settings on my video card so the problem could be on my end.

It's a ROM 00. They only offered this upgrade for a short period of time,
when the IIgs first came out. If you look at the back of the system, it has
all the plugs that a normal IIgs would have but if you look at the
motherboard, you'll see the addtional plugs for the IIe keyboard and numeric
keypad. Those are missing from the regular IIgs motherboard, even the ROM 00
boards I believe but the earliest ROM 00 boards might have all had these
plugs. I'm not sure. No other 00 boards that I've seen (outside of the
upgraded IIe's) have the internal keyboard plugs. You could use a regular
IIgs external keyboard with this system, and the ADB mouse plugged into the
keyboard like usual. If you wanted to use an Apple serial mouse, you would
have to have the mouse controller card the same way that you would for a IIe
or IIe platinum.
It can use any composite monitor like the other A2 systems. I use a beige
Color Monitor IIe with mine, and a beige duodisk drive but like the regular
IIgs, you can also use the unidisk 5.25" and 3.5" combo chained together.
For all intents and purposes, this system is a IIgs, except that it's in a
IIe case.
