The AT is a modem attention command to tell it instructions are coming
and not data.

The D (dial) command tells the modem to initiate a connection by taking
the phone off hook and generate dialing signals, pulse or tone for the
following digits. (The digits are omitted since we are not really
dialing anyone. Put some in to hear music...
3545333,555,399,3545333355354)

The A (answer) command tells the modem to answer the phone line and
begin the handshaking sequence to talk to another modem.

Thankx,
Ed
