This does not invalidate the request for software to mimic that sort of
speech. But, if I am not mistaken, both of your references to voices
were done using a human voice and basically a noise generator circuit to
distort it.  It was not 'computer generated'.

In fact, one of the Macintosh voices sounds very similar to a cylon.  I
can not recall which settings produce that, but I can vouch that it is
inherent in MacOS 7x.
