well acutally as far as i know, the a/c cobra project was using chassis's
that were built in the late 60's and were ready to have the motors and bodys
installed onto, but were never finished. those chassis's were registered or
whatever and i think carroll shelby was able to legally register the vin
numbers as 1966 models or something when he finished them which then
bypassed all the new emissions laws and bypassed all the safety laws also.
i maybe wrong about this but thats what i remember hearing a few years ago.
