The Mac people tend to only know about machines from the
early PowerPC's to present. If you are running System 8.0 and
above with a more snobbish attitude towards the superiority
of System X over the rest of the mac Systems. Most of them
don't realize that the older Mac's used SCSI drives and at
times I have been given attitude because of my cross-platform
knowledge...."Oh he posted that from a Windows machine.
He is not a real Mac person." Older system questions don't
get answered on the Mac newsgroups.

I would tend to favor the group name Comp.sys.apple.legacy so
that it covers all groups not currently supported by Apple. That
would mean that you could get a variety of people from across
the Apple universe. That would also mean a larger audience of
Vintage computer users. Most users these days, sneer at people
who use or collect vintage computers. Their attitude is "buy a
Pentium IV or get a G4 machine why use that old thing" or
"Gosh, when I get those in, I trash them as worthless junk."

Another name we could use is this:

comp.sys.apple.vintage

I kinda like that one too. Just my two cents worth.
