Help?
I bought a 5.25" drive for my IIgs a few months ago and I just (tonight)
attempted to read a disk from it. No matter what I do, I get a "DISK ERROR:
I/O" message. I get this with INIT HELLO and CATALOG. My main goal here is
to make a DOS 3.3 disk (I finally got DOS33.DMP over to the IIgs, and now I
can't write or read a floppy due to these errors!).
When I type INIT HELLO, the drive light comes on and it makes the "arrrrr
arrrrrr" sound, then gives me the error.
I originally had the 3.5" drive plugged into the IIgs and the 5.25" drive
daisy chained off the 3.5". I took the 3.5" out of the equation and plugged
the 5.25" drive straight into the IIgs with the exact same results.
Is it worth my trouble to clean/adjust/etc this drive, or should I just get
another?
I've looked through Ruby's FAQ but I don't see anything specific to these
errors.
Thanks!
Ken
