Monitor for a Mac LC II (sorry - I know it's off-topic!!)

Hey guys,

Sorry sorry sorry to bug everyone with a Mac question.  I have a
side-project of getting an LC II working so I can get a IIe emulator card
for it.  I picked up an AppleColor High-Resolution Monitor at a thrift shop
(my second Apple thrift shop find!) and am (perhaps vainly) trying to get it
to work on this LC II using a IIgs RGB monitor cable.  I get an out-of-synch
gray screen, and I don't know if the monitor is not compatible or if it is
but my cable is inappropriate.

Any suggestions?
