My first IIe was a Platinum IIe that came with a 5.25 drive but
no serial port. To get the serial card, I had to buy another system
for the serial card. It had a 3.5" drive and a Disk II drive also.
The Disk II I sold to another dude. I believe I paid $3 for both
systems. I went back to Goodwill and they had a IIgs there for
a $1.49 and that is when I realized what I had missed in the
Apple II world.
