I see you decided to get the hard disk, good move. With that and a com
program, you can download Apple II software from the net using your PC, and
transfer the files to your IIgs via a null-modem cable. There are
instructions in the FAQ.
I use Agate, an old Apple II shareware com program with Zmodem. You can use
HyperTerminal on the PC end. Just don't try to go to fast, I think 9600 bps
is tops.
You might consider picking up a compact Mac with a 1.44 meg floppy drive,
such as the Classic, Classic II, SE/30, etc. You can use your IIgs mouse and
keyboard, and the Mac can read disks from your PC and copy the files to 800K
ProDos disks that your IIgs can read. Those compact Macs are a great
accessory for your Apple II's.
