Me either.  When I used a Unix news reader a few years ago, I would
regularly see dozens of new "alt.hate.blah.blah" groups spring up with
one or two messages, and then no more activity.  I thought that anyone
could start a new group as easily as starting a new thread, just by
typing in a new group name!

I'm sure that's not exactly what the "founders" of Usenet intended,
but I haven't the foggiest of who or what controls the content at the
level of groups.  Maybe anarchy isn't so bad...
