I have a PPC Mac clone from PowerComputing, (601 @ 100 mhz) running Mac/OS 8.5.
I just inserted a ProDOS disk, and had it ejected with an error message that I
had to turn off file sharing in order to read ProDOS disks. So, I turned off file
sharing and inserted the ProDOS disk, and it worked fine. I tried another disk
and it too worked just fine. (Love the rainbow colored II on the disk) However,
when I inserted a 3.5" disk formatted for Apple Pascal, well, I got the "bad
disk" message.
Hope that helps Bart
