A lot of us Apple II users have Unix Shell accounts with foxvalley.net

It's a small ISP based in the Chicago area, but they're part of some
nationwide dial-up, so I can dial into the shell from a local number here
in Northern California. There are a number of different payment plans,
and mine is $16/month.

You can find more info at <http://www.foxvalley.net> including whether
there's a local dialup in your community.

The owner of foxvalley prefers using a shell himself, so we're all pretty
much guaranteed that shell access won't be yanked anytime soon.

I've had an account for probably 2 years, and certainly recommend
foxvalley for anyone who wants/needs shell access.
