I did try asking the local Goodwill store manager if they would at
least "set aside" the machines they plan to throw away, but they
wouldn't do it. Something about not playing favorites with specific
groups or organizations or something. What the hell do ya mean playing
favorites??? You're throwing it away, otherwise. Yeesh.
For a while I did try "offering a helping hand" to one of the
employees to help him find out what a 286 can do, but the management
apparantly got upset that I was labeling things in a clear, frank and
direct manner. "This copier has a broken corona wire, and so all
copies will look terrible. Cost to fix is at least $50." (Copier was
priced at $29.99. ;)
Dumbhead management I guess. :(
