how do i "reset" my apple 2 gs

another one of my annoying questions, but how in the world do i "reset" my
apple 2?  i know with my macs, i just hit option-open apple-escape to force
quit, and a few other keystrokes that will let me either break free from the os
or reset it or if worse comes to worse, i can always hit the reset button in
the front of my g4 at work or hit the power button on my 7500.

but it is rather annoying to have to power off the apple 2 gs when i turn it on
and it gives me the "check startup device" error or "unable to load prodos" or
something like that.  i don't like powering it on and off like that..
