Assuming it is the standard fan supplied by Apple: the fan itself is
inside a black plastic case, and it is possible to remove the top half
of the case, or to detach the case from the power supply without having
to disassemble it.

The case attaches to the power supply with four plastic clips, roughly
in the corners. There is a lever arrangement down the sides of the case
(up against the power supply) which allows two of the clips to be
released, by squeezing at the appropriate points. I forget whether they
are at the top or bottom. While squeezed correctly, you can slide the
fan up off the power supply.

As for your question on the Apple OneScanner: the only scanner software
I'm aware of for the IIgs is "AppleScan", which Apple never finished
writing. Its scan facility is functional, but it can only display the
scanned image on the screen, and doesn't have any way of saving it.

As far as scanner compatibility goes: it requires an Apple SCSI card,
with the Apple Scanner driver installed in your system folder (it is
listed in the Customize section of the System 6.0.x installer), and it
may only work with the original Apple SCSI Scanner (which predates the
"Apple OneScanner").

AppleScan was included on developer CDs as a working example application
(possibly even with source code), and was also on the System 6 Golden
Master CD (which has a copy of the Apple II portion of the developer CD
at that time).
