If you are using the drive on an Apple IIc which can only use a
UniDisk type 3.5 drive, the answer is no. If you are using an
Apple IIGS or an Apple IIc Plus, both of which can take the
Apple 3.5 drive, the answer is yes. You can speed up the
UniDisk 3.5 by converting it into an Apple 3.5 drive. There is
an article on the Ground ftp server called UniDisk Lobotomy
which details how to turn your UniDisk 3.5 into an Apple 3.5
drive (reversably) by switching some cables in the UniDisk's
case.
The Apple 3.5 drive operation is much faster than the UniDisk
3.5 operation, by the way, because the UniDisk was designed
to be slow for the Apple IIc and IIe.
