No, it is not "identical" but it is very close.

And what in the world does that have to do with a //e??

GS/OS DOES NOT work on a //e.
He DID NOT mention the IIgs.
I suggest you try reading the posts that you wish to comment on, before you
make your comments.

The interface that he was mentioning was used in the last version of
Catalyst for the 8 bit IIs. Catalyst was intended to be used on "high
density" disks, like the 800K unidisk and ProFiles. The GUI used double
high resolution b&w and it did look a lot like the Mac. It is my
understanding that Apple intended the interface to be used with other
products, but Catalyst is the only one I've ever seen that uses it. It was
slow on a 1mhz machine, but it isn't too bad on my //c+, or my Transwarped
//e.
